21st Annual Sand Painters Open Show and Work Shop
The Sand Painters Art Club presents Donna Binfield of Juniata as juror and workshop instructor for the 21st Annual Open Show.
Donna Binfield began her career in early grade school, and her life-like drawings of horses were in demand among her classmates. It was these many years of pencil drawing that led to her keen perception and open expression of the innermost feelings of her subjects. She paints with passion and understanding, and strives to pass these emotions on to the viewer.
“I was born and raised in Nebraska’s rural farming area. As long as I can remember, I’ve been a lover of animals - especially horses. Horses have surrounded me all my life - and spending time with them has kept me in the out-of-doors and in close contact with nature. It is outdoors, surrounded by birds and animals that I feel closest to God - and I strive to express this feeling to the viewer through my art work.”
She has received many awards and recognitions for her work, and has shown in regional and national juried competitions. She has studied under many nationally-known artists, and has conducted classes and workshops in various medias throughout Nebraska and Kansas. Donna is a past president of the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs and a Signature Member of the Chicago Pastel Painters.
Donna's primary media is pastel however she works in most media - oil acrylic, and watercolor. Binfield will be teaching landscape, composition and how to paint animals in the medium of your choice. Binfield's workshop will be Saturday and Sunday, August 21th - 9:00 to 4:00 & 22nd - 9:00 - 3:00 in the 4-H Exhibit Hall. Workshop fee --$25.00/day members/ $30.00/day non-members.
Open show rules:
RULES: Adult and Youth Division. Cash awards given. All works must be original. Must be ready to hang. WIRES ONLY. 3-D must have stand. Sales through artist only. Entry form must be completed day of delivery.
